The US Central Command (CENTCOM) released a new video on Saturday (Feb 28) from an operation called ‘Epic Fury.’ The video came after the US and Israel carried out joint strikes on Iran, hitting more than 30 targets and killing Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. Israel called their part of the operation ‘Lion’s Roar.’
The attacks were triggered by growing tensions between the US and Iran over Iran’s nuclear program. In response, Iran struck back by launching attacks on Israel and several US military bases across the region, targeting countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
When CENTCOM shared the 33-second video on X, they wrote, “The Iranian regime was warned. CENTCOM is now delivering swift and decisive action as directed.”
President Trump also weighed in on his Truth Social platform, writing, “Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever hit before. THEY BETTER NOT DO THAT, HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!”

Following the confirmation of Khamenei’s death on Sunday (Mar 1), Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed to severely punish the “murderers” responsible. They threatened to launch what they called the most ferocious attack in their history against Israel and US bases, saying, “The most ferocious offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces will begin any moment now.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also spoke out, saying that Khamenei’s “pure blood” will “eradicate American-Zionist oppression and crime.” He added, “This time too, with all our strength and determination, with the support of the Islamic nation and the free people of the world, we will make the perpetrators and commanders of this great crime regret it.”
In the wake of Khamenei’s death, the Iranian government announced 40 days of public mourning and seven days of public holiday.
