Charli XCX owned 2024 with her Brat Summer era. Now she’s jumping into movies in a major way.
The British pop star has a bunch of films coming out in 2026, and we just got our first look at one called The Moment. It’s a mockumentary where she plays herself—well, a version of herself. The movie hits theaters on January 30, 2026.
The trailer shows Charli as this over-the-top pop star getting ready for her first world tour. Think of it like watching her life through a funhouse mirror—same person, just cranked up to eleven.
What Else Is She Doing?
Honestly? A lot. Charli’s everywhere next year, trying out all kinds of different roles.
She’s in Erupcja, a drama set in Poland. There’s 100 Nights of Hero, a fantasy romance with Emma Corrin and Nicholas Gaziltine. She’s doing an action-comedy called Sacrifice alongside Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy. Then there’s The Gallerist, a thriller with Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega.
If you’re into horror, she’s got Faces of Death coming—it’s based on those old sketchy VHS tapes from back in the day. She’s also in I Want Your Sex, an erotic thriller with Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman. And she’s part of Dakota Johnson’s first movie as a director, A Tree Is Blue, which stars Jessica Alba too.
People who’ve seen 100 Nights of Hero are already talking about how good she is in it. One reviewer called her performance “subtle but enchanting,” which is pretty high praise.
Who Made The Moment?
The movie comes from Aidan Zamiri. He’s directed music videos for Billie Eilish, Pinkpantheress, and FKA Twigs—plus a bunch for Charli herself. This is his first full movie.
He wrote it with Bertie Brandes, working off an idea that Charli came up with. A24 is putting it out, which makes sense given their track record with weird, interesting stuff.
The Moment drops January 30, 2026. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
