Hulu has renewed Chad Powers for another season, which means Glen Powell is going back into that makeup chair for round two.
Yes, the show that was inspired by the ESPN bit from a few years back, where Eli Manning dressed up in fake prosthetics and crashed a Penn State football tryout to test out if he could make it again.
The show that was inspired by a bit is all set for a season 2 with more crazy ideas and runs with it. The show stars Glen Powell as Russ Holliday, a college football player whose career basically blew up in his face. So to get back in the game, he puts on some prosthetics and a wig, transforms himself into Chad Powers, and tries out for a team called the South Georgia Catfish.
It’s one of those stories where the guy thinks he’s just trying to get his career back on track, but surprise, he ends up learning a whole lot about himself in the process.
Other than Powell, other cast members include Steve Zahn, who you might know from The Righteous Gemstones. Perry Mattfeld from In the Dark is in there, along with Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, and Frankie A. Rodriguez.
