Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the story from The Sea of Monsters book. If you watched season 1, you know Percy stopped a big war between Poseidon and Zeus. His friend Grover finally got permission to search for Pan, a nature god who went missing. Grover’s hunt for Pan is actually what kicks off a lot of the action in season 2.
Before we get into the new season, you should know what happened with Luke Castellan. He used to bePercy’s friend, but now he wants to destroy Olympus.
Luke Castellan goes one step ahead and plans to destroy the Camp Half Blood. So he goes ahead and poisons Thalia’s pine tree. The tree that creates a magic shield around the camp to keep it safe from outside dangers.
It has been few hours only but the initial reviews are out and people have been complementing the cast and the storyline.
So before you go ahead and hook yourself up with the series, let’s talk about who’s playing who Percy Jackson Season 2.
Walker Socbell

Walker Scobell plays the role of Percy Jackson. He was born on January 5, 2009, in Virginia. He was first recognised when he played younger version of Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project on Netflix. That role got him noticed and provided a pathway for him to play Percy Jackson. He’s also going to be in The Angry Birds Movie 3.
His Role: Percy is the main character of the series and is a demigod who is the son of Poseidon. Being Poseidon kid makes him really powerful and a target. As Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades all promised they wouldn’t have any more children with humans. So the existence of Percy makes him a target.
Leah Sava Jeffries

Leah Sava Jeffries plays Annabeth Chase. She was born on September 25, 2009, in Detroit, Michigan. She had played small parts in shows like Empire and Rel. She was also in the movie Beast back in 2022. But Percy Jackson is really what launched her career.
Her Story: Annabeth is the daughter of Athena and one of Percy’s closest friends at camp. She had a rough childhood and lived on the streets for a while. Older demigods like Luke and Thalia took care of her back then. Eventually, she made it to Camp Half Blood. When Percy showed up a few years later, they became friends and started going on quests together.
Aryan Simhadri

Aryan Simhadri plays the role of Grover Underwood. He’s a bit older than Walker and Leah, born May 6, 2006, in Ventura, California. Because he’s older, he got some early TV work on shows like Teachers and Roll with It. He worked with Disney in 2022 on the Cheaper by the Dozen remake. Percy Jackson was his breakout role, though, just like it was for Leah.
His Role: Grover is Percy best friend and also his protector. He’s a satyr, which means he’s part goat. Young satyrs go out into the world to find demigods who don’t know what they are yet. Then they bring them back to camp, where it’s safe. Grover did this job for Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth first. Later, he found Percy. The two of them have been through a lot together, which is why their friendship is so strong.
Charlie Bushnell

Charlie Bushnell plays Luke Castellan. He was born on June 16, 2004, in Los Angeles, California. He hasn’t been in many things yet. Percy Jackson is definitely his biggest role. Before this, he was Bobby in Diary of a Future President on Disney+. He also did some voice work for a Peacock show called In the Know.
His Role: Luke is the son of Hermes, but he feels like his dad forgot about him. That made him angry at all the gods. He started thinking that the gods are terrible rulers and that the Titans should be in charge instead. Now Luke is trying to bring Kronos back from the dead. This makes him the main villain among the demigods in the show.
Dior Goodjohn

Dior Goodjohn plays Clarisse La Rue. She was born on August 13, 2006, in Santa Monica, California. She’s been acting since 2013 with small parts in Glee, Raven’s Home, and The Unicorn. Then she had a bigger part in HBO’s Head of the Class. Percy Jackson gave her the big break she needed.
Her Role: Clarisse is the daughter of Ares, the war god. She and Percy are not friendly with each other. They got into the fight with each other on the first day of there meeting. In season 2, Clarisse becomes much more important because she goes on the official quest to the Sea of Monsters.
Other Support Cast
There are other important people in the show, too. Virginia Kull plays Sally Jackson, Percy’s mom. She is the mortal parent who had Percy with Poseidon. Sally knows all about gods and monsters, so she helps Percy to understand this wild world which he is part of. Virginia has been in Big Little Lies, NOS4A2, and The Looming Tower.
Kevin Chacón plays Chris Rodriguez. He is another camper at Camp Half Blood and a son of Hermes, which makes him Luke’s half-brother. Chris goes with Clarisse on her quest in season 2, so he ends up opposing Percy. Kevin has appeared in Jessica Jones and Santiago of the Seas.
Glynn Turman is Chiron. He is one of the people who runs Camp Half Blood. Chiron is a centaur, which means he’s half man and half horse. He’s been training demigods for thousands of years. In season 2, Chiron gets kicked out as director because people think he has ties to Kronos. Glynn is famous for being in The Wire, Fargo, and In Treatment.
Jason Mantzoukas plays Dionysus, who everyone calls Mr. D. He is the god of wine, and Zeus made him help run Camp Half Blood as a punishment. Mr. D isn’t super important to the main story. He’s more there for comedy relief. Jason has done a ton of comedy work in shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place.
Toby Stephens plays Poseidon, Percy’s dad and the god of the sea. Poseidon doesn’t show up all the time, but when he does, it matters. He usually helps Percy at really important moments during his quests. Toby is best known for playing Captain Flint in Black Sails.
Courtney B. Vance plays Zeus, the king of all the gods. He’s taking over this role because Lnce Reddick, who played Zeus in season 1, passed away. Zeus is moody, stubborn, and really proud. He doesn’t like Percy because demigods like him weren’t supposed to exist. But Zeus works with Percy anyway because they both need to stop Kronos.
Courtney has been in movies like The Hunt for Red October and Isle of Dogs. On TV, he’s done Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and Lovecraft Country. Now he’s stepping into the role of the king of the gods for season 2.
The second season looks like it’s going to expand the world even more. With Percy heading out to the Sea of Monsters, viewers will get to see new places and meet new characters. The stakes are higher this time because the safety of Camp Half Blood depends on Percy succeeding in his quest.
