After 5 years, the Supernatural cast got together again at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, on Thursday. Misha Collins, Kathryn Newton, Jim Beaver, and Rob Benedict were all there for the celebration of 20 years since the series first started back in 2006. Fans went wild seeing them together.
The two main stars, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, weren’t there, though. They played the Winchester brothers, who spent 15 seasons hunting demons before the show ended in November 2020.
The São Paulo Expo was packed with people who wanted to see the cast. You could feel the energy in the room with all the cheering and excitement. Fans even sang along to “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas during the opening. That song became really special to the show over the years.
But things got even more interesting when someone on stage commented on Donald Trump, which really got the crowd going.
Misha Collins, who played the angel Castiel, joked about how different things are in Brazil compared to back home. “When we’re back home in the U.S., nobody pays any attention to us anymore,” he told everyone. “But here, there must be a lag or something because you still know what Supernatural is.”
The big moment came near the end when someone asked Kathryn Newton a question. Newton played a character named Claire who appeared in several episodes.
The fan wanted to know what kind of monster she’d like to fight, and she picked dragons. That’s when Collins jumped in with something unexpected.
“You mean like, what kind of an evil monster character would we want to go up against?” Collins said. “I think it’d be fun to take on Donald Trump.”
People in the crowd cheered really loud after that. Collins seemed pleased with the reaction. “We’ve found our people,” he said. “So, not a big MAGA crowd here?”
The person running the panel didn’t say anything about his comments and quickly moved things along to show a video.
Earlier on, Newton talked about what Claire might be up to if she ever got her own show. “I’m sure Claire’s out there, still kicking ass and taking names,” she said.
“There’s always going to be monsters, and somebody’s always got to find them.”
The reunion showed just how much people still love Supernatural even though it’s been a few years since the finale. The show ran for 15 seasons, which is rare for any TV series. Fans in Brazil proved they’re just as passionate about it now as they were when it was still on the air.
