US President Donald Trump took to social media to declare that Washington would accept nothing less than complete capitulation from Tehran, as fighting between the United States, Israel, and Iran stretched into its seventh day.
Trump also insisted that the United States must play a part in shaping Iran’s future leadership, explicitly ruling out the son of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a candidate.
“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER,” Trump wrote.
He went on to outline his vision for a post-conflict Iran, stating: “After that, and the selection of a great and acceptable leader, we, along with our brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.”
Trump rounded off his post on an optimistic note, expressing confidence in the country’s prospects and even coining a new phrase — “Make Iran Great Again (MIGA)” — as he concluded: “Iran will have a great future.”
